My name is Kim Dreiling and these are my two beautiful children Evie and Bradey. I started blogging a few weeks after my daughter was born in 2008. I wanted to help teach other moms "how to raise healthy children." My main goal is to spread the word of health. There are many different alternatives and healthy ways to raise our children. It's my privilege to help you through this process. I provide you with the tools that you need to enhance your child/family's nutrition plan, daily activities, home life, exercise, living toxin free, getting organized, inspiration and most of all having fun raising your children. My Birth Story

Welcome Bradey Michael Dreiling! He was born on August 5, 2010 at 1:23 am. He weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. He entered into the world in the most peaceful relaxing environment. He was born at home in our candle lit bathroom. There was no use of any kind of drugs or medicine. It was as natural as it could get and it was absolutely perfect.
The birth of my son (our second child) was a very quick experience. I was only in labor for a few hours. Having your children at home is completely relaxing because you are able to have all the comforts of home. You are able to walk around and be in labor in different areas of your home. I walked around the kitchen, changed my clothes, layed in bed and ended up in the bathtub for the birth.
When Bradey arrived, I held him in my arms for a very long time. He wasn't taken from me until I was ready to get out of the bathtub. We then went into my bed where I was able to nurse him before he was examined. The midwives then made me something to eat, cleaned my bathroom, bedroom, washed all the linens, cleaned my kitchen and went home. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The next morning, Evie (our daughter) woke up and walked into our room and discovered she had a new baby brother! It was exciting for Evie to go through this huge transition for her in her own environment.
We are so blessed to have this little miracle in our family. Thank you to all of our family and friends for everything that you have done for us.

Congratulations! I am so glad you were able to have such a wonderful birthing experience! My four children were also born in our home when we were living in Utah with the aid of a midwife. The only thing I feel that I missed out on was a water birth (I was not aware of that "new" way to bring a child into the world). My daughter is pregnant and living in Southeastern Idaho. She is looking for a midwife to attend the birth of her second child (the first was a water birth in Utah). It would be great to find a midwife like you describe in your story! Any suggestions? Thanks!

I held Bradey less than 24 hours of life on planet earth, and he is such a beautiful child. Nice shaped head and lovely skin and cute little nose- he is nothing less than perfect. Good job, Kim and Troy. I just wish you still lived next door so I could watch him grow as I did Evie. Oh well, I'll just have to increase my gas bill to drive way out there in the country to see you guys.

Thank you! Midwives are wonderful! My suggestion for your daughter is to interview midwives in her area. Most practioners will do a small consult either over the phone or in office for you to discover if they are right for you. Many blessings to you and your daughter.
